Happy Monday, folks!
This newsletter is coming a bit late (not that anyone is monitoring), just because the last few days have been a little bit hectic on all aspects of my life. Still, I wanted to keep this (semi) tradition of mine going. It’s when things get so fast-paced like this that I really get to appreciate slowing down and taking stock of my days. The last thing I want is my life blurring away.
I came across John Zeratsky’s (JZ) “Missing Months” story in the “Highlights” portion of the book [Make Time] and it read “And one day I woke up with a shocking realization: I couldn’t remember the last two months.” and it really caught my attention because SAME.

Updating my gratitude list (max every 3 days, a rule I adapted from
) is a way to do that. It seems that positive journaling by means of gratitude logging is the only thing I have the energy to write lately. But honestly, it’s a problem I would very much prefer to have any time.So here it is — a list of my favorite °˖glimmers˖° that made my days a little brighter this week:

✧˖° The most intense hot pilates so far - the first one I attended in a while. It was insane, but I was glad I did it and that I challenged myself again.
✧˖° Cute outfit for my pilates princess weekend: the comfiest hand-me-down hoody, leggings, and my red mary janes. I love them so much.
✧˖° Social cup being full. To hanging out with friends more often. A recent card game discovery: Card vs. Gravity. It was so fun!
✧˖° Bluebell-spotting around the neighborhood. I was so glad to have spotted those blues against the greens. We don’t have bluebell woods nearby, so I have to actively seek them out. Finding those rare pink bluebell was nice as well. Unfortunately, the Spanish bluebells are more dominant in our area now so it was nice to see clusters of the common (native) English bluebells.
✧˖° A lesson in living: a tree that has fallen, barely holding onto its main trunk, but still blooming with these gorgeous white blossoms. A thought in my head: I want to squeeze out every inch life has to offer.
✧˖° Going out with just sunscreen and moisturizer on. This is such a big deal for me. I’ve been suffering with adult acne since I turned 30 and it came to a point when I couldn’t go out without make-up on. I think some of my lost confidence is coming back. 😌
✧˖° This song: Hypotheticals by Lake Street Dive. It feels like beginning of falling in love (obsessed with this feeling in songs, lately). That drop at 0:40 onwards always brings a serotonin boost to me.
✧˖° Gave out some of my books, but Shoukei Matsumoto’s A Monk’s Guide to A Clean House and Mind is a guiding hand in battling my hoarder tendencies. (I have an incoming newsletter about this. 😉) Books as teachers - I love it.
✧˖° Something I was blocking in my head for the better part of this week, but is one of the thing I’m most thankful for: my brother got into an accident and luckily came out of it with just a fractured finger. Life really is too short, and anything can happen. I’m always grateful for the continued safety of my loved ones. 🤍
✧˖° My first book review over at the blog after a long while!
✧˖° The idea of “oubaitori" (Japanese, lit. ‘cherry blossom, plum, peach, and apricot’) — growing and blossoming at your own pace. 🌸
✧˖° Nice beds. And a truly nice nap mainly because of a nice bed. It’s such a luxury — truly one of the best purchases of my life. 😌
P.S. I am writing this on a plane on the way to Cappadocia - at the start of my week-long Türkiye trip with my friends. We landed last Saturday at Istanbul and somehow managed to do a lot for our first full day already. I am super excited to share my gratitude list for next week because it’s gonna be super special! 🫰
