Happy Sunday, folks!
This is the first full week of me slowing down and life is the more brighter because of it. Trying to get back into routine involved: reading more, exercising more, getting out more, talking to friends more. I also started spending some time cooking for myself again (and sometimes for others, to share), and that has been such a joy. I ordered less (and saved because of it), and got excited about all the stuff I could make with my hands.
It seems that summer is in full swing. And by the state of things, I think this whole (short but sweet) season might be spent coming home to my hobbies again, and coming home to myself.
I am willing myself to be excited about things once again: trips, finishing a book, posting, and even just those chill nights where I am just trying out recipes (ooh, I have a lot I am dying to try). But in the meantime…
Here’s a list of my favorite °˖glimmers˖° that made my days a little brighter the past week:
✧˖°Super Milk spray for my tresses. This, combined with this Papaya Hair Food, gives my hair the perfect milky milkshake smell without the usual sickly sweet vanilla undertone that I associate with gourmand smells like this. It was spectacular when it is wet but it was so much nicer when it dries down and you get the random whiff of it from time to time. A sweet surprise indeed.
✧˖° Started an audiobook for the first time in a while. Thank God for mindless fluffy romances that takes my mind off things. It was a 2.5⭐ read but it did the job.
✧˖° Grace Dent’s Comfort Eating feeling like a hug.

✧˖° Best condiment discovery of the week: an easy pantry pangrattato. Also, pangrattato garlic shrimp pasta of my dreams.
✧˖° Kati Edwards videos. Such a gift.
✧˖° Casually winning the grand prize in our company summer party. 🎉 Good things arrive in happenstance.
✧˖° Long distance, low maintenance friendships. Hours-long video calls, just laughing at in-jokes and catching up.
✧˖° Grilled cheese🧀 era starting again. My secrets/hacks: 1) the right combination of cheeses, which is something melty and something sharp, and 2) a squeeze of lemon or lime on the inside of the bread. Never fails!
✧˖° Planning and feeling excited for summer trips.
✧˖° “I appreciate how thoughtful you are in everything that you do.” Tbh, it made me cry.
✧˖° The smell of freshly cooked white rice, in the rice cooker. Divine. 🍚
✧˖° Friends’ life milestones and being there for it. 🥹
